WELCOME TO WEEK FIVE!

This week I want you to go through as many of the exercises as you can. Head back to the previous weeks for the exercises and videos. Have you noticed any changes? Is it too easy? Remember in order to progress we need add reps or increase the weights, ideally by 0.5kg at a time, From time to time due to holidays/life/personal circumstances we need to regress. THIS IS NORMAL! So please do not feel like you have failed. The main thing is getting back on the fitness train and start again. Remember I am always here for you when you need reassurance, guidance or simply need a pep talk.

Floorbarre

Floorbarre has proved hugely popular since I started classes back in April 2019. This is because they are inclusive and most people can manage this class. Here's a fact: I have had a class where we had a 16 year old world champion kickboxer, a professional ballerina and a 72 year old Grandmother! Love it!

1 large carrot, chopped.
1 large stick celery, chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped. 1 400g can of chopped tomatoes. 1 pepper, small diced
2 tins of mixed beans , drained
1 tin of black eye beans, drained. Any additional spices
Method
Add the carrot, celery, onion, garlic and fresh chilli if using to the oil in a large wide pan on a medium hot heat and sweat until onions are translucent, about 10 mins. Add tomato puree and stir for 30 seconds, then add the spices you'd like if using. Stir fry for a minute. Add chopped tomatoes, chopped pepper and bring to simmer, cover and leave on low heat for 10-20mins, stirring occasionally, until veg is cooked through. Add all the beans, stir, bring to simmer, cover and cook on low heat for 10- 15 minutes until beans are hot. Keep an eye on it, add a couple of tblsp of water if it is a bit dry. Serve hot with rice, tortilla chips or loaded on to a jacket potato.
